MAXI DOLPHIN RESTORES AZZURRA ‘83
In April 2010, after nine months and 6.000 hours of work, Maxi Dolphin completed the refitting of Azzurra ‘83. The work, commissioned by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (owner of the boat) brought the 12m S.I. back to its original splendor. Azzurra 83’ was the first ever Italian Challenge to the America’s Cup, in 1983. She has been repainted with her original typical blue color (Azzurra means light blue) thanks to an historical sample found in the Vallicelli Design archive. The boat, after being displayed at NavigaMi, the Milan Boat Show, left to Sardinia, where she will be admired by the travelers arriving at the Olbia – Costa Smeralda Airport.
At the end of Summer Azzurra will reach her final destination: the Leonardo da Vinci Museum of Science and Technology, in Milan
