NEWS 06 April 2016 New look for MD51: from mega tender to cruiser

Maxi Dolphin is launching the even more technologically advanced MD51 Cruiser on the international market: Delivery May 2016. The seventh version of the MD51- the result of a project designed by Roberto Starkel and the extremely elegant creative. – is a completely customized motor yacht, offering an elevated cruiser performance for medium-length voyages.

The MD51 Cruiser was conceived for four people and presents the sleek water lines of a metallic hull, a hard top that stretches towards the stern with a covered piloting area. The exterior area features a cockpit with an extremely spacious and comfortable sun bed area with additional space below to lodge the tender that comes complete with a small carbon fibre crane for towage. A highly efficient mini-kitchen has been obtained next to it which features a teppanyaki griddle, counter, sink and refrigerator. There are six hatchways providing excellent lighting in the cabins.

Maxi Dolphin has developed one of the first applications for Apple iPad that allows for managing the electrical and recreational parts of the boat. The iPad has been predisposed to become a sophisticated remote control that connects to the boat via Wireless network.

The layout of the interior has been revolutionised in the management of its area, furnishing and styling thanks to the valuable contribution of Maxi Dolphin architect. One of the additional highlights of this motor yacht is the creation of another cabin that is one-of-a-kind: when there are guests on board, a second cabin can be obtained by closing off the dinette’s right side with two sliding envelope partitions and raising the sofa’s backrest. This second cabin features two comfortable bunk-beds. The materials used all come in soft shades with exceptionally harmonious nuances.

This new cruiser is a boat created entirely using Sprint technology in order to obtain a motor yacht of extreme strength and limited weight that allows to install lower power engines in comparison with those normally installed on yachts of the same size, guaranteeing a considerable reduction of consumption: the MD51 Cruiser is equipped with two Volvo Penta IPS 600 engines, 435 Horsepower each. This revolutionary propulsion system, with an incredible increase in efficiency in comparison with inboard engines, offers a higher maximum speed, added acceleration and high performance.
