With the launch in 2006 of the Maxi Dolphin TP53 Astro Luca Brenta and Maxi Dolphin threw down a real international challenge

In that year no less than 16 boats of the Transpac 52 Class were launched, which shows the level of competition existing within the offshore sailing top class at the time. Astro was started being realized in 2005; for this racer Maxi Dolphin applied all its technical know-how and all the most advanced technologies. She is made of composite materials and pre-preg carbon fiber with Nomex core and ‘baking’ at 85°C in Maxi Dolphin oven. The interiors, even though reduced to the minimum and featuring the maximum lightness, are still an example of the sensitivity and attention to this aspects by Luca Brenta, one of the most prominent Italian yacht designers. They also reflect Maxi Dolphin’s real philosophy, that neither for a racing boat, renounces on the focus and attention to detail, the salient features of all the projects executed by the boatyard.
