The new MD 61’ Evolution was launched as the natural evolution of the MD 51’ range and on the wave of success this craft is enjoying: she conserves the spirit and main guidelines of the 51’ and is once again a new product, and one that stands out from all the other very similar market offerings. Meticulous care over detail, impeccable finishing, refined and absolutely unusual accessories – a made to measure boat offering a chance to enjoy emotions that normal standard boats no longer no longer concede! A 19 metre “big sister” 5.30 metres wide, advanced construction technology guaranteeing reasonable lightness, absolute reliability, high speed and reduced consumption.

Every craft must be a perfect combination of beauty and technology and this is the orientation Studio Starkel and Maxi Dolphin follow: this craft is designed for refined owners who love the sea and above all sailing; persons who grant themselves the pleasure of sailing their boats single-handed, both on good days and in rough seas, educated and able to clearly distinguish the difference from other craft of the same class.

The MD 61’ is “beefier” than the MD 51’ in terms of performance, with two pairs of engines ranging from 1100 to 1360 HP and with propulsion by Arneson or Maritune surface propellers. A deep V planing bottom and a variable, gentle and performance sweepback, maximum speed of over 55 knots with the more powerful engines, excellent comfort and sea-wothiness and lower than average consumption thanks to hydrodynamic optimisation and contained weight. Leading-edge technologies and construction materials: Carbon, Kevlar, Basalt and sandwich hull and deck, lamination with the Sprint® system.

The deck lay-out is an authentic loft, divided into various areas to organise and furnish to choice. The prow is completely free, a large sunbathing terrace on which to enjoy the view, the sun and sea…..

In the cockpit we find two very distinct zones. The first is for commanding and manoeuvring the craft: it is elevated and towers over the stern guaranteeing vital visibility at high speed. The second is entirely for guests and relaxation, conceived as an appendix inside the above-decks space, opened via two pantographic doors. The surrounding environment enters the craft seamlessly creating a unique space. With the doors open, the ample bridge becomes an integral part of the guest zone, surrounded by nature and accessible to the sea via a full-width, pivoting walkway with steps. The furnishing of the guest area initially envisages two “L” shaped divans surrounding the sunbathing area and tables adjustable in height.

Just like the MD 51’, the MD 61 Evolution also has a Hard top to protect helm, with a stratified, lighting adjustable, glass sunroof, flush-closing top, opening canopy and a sliding system for natural ventilation. Alternatively, and solely for the console area, a top can be chosen with electro-hydraulic control and full closure.

The internal areas enjoy excellent natural lighting thanks to large portholes in the walls, scuttles at deck level and to stratified glass inserts arranged in the bridge, quarter boards on the deck and on the cockpit bottom. The standard lay-out has two, full-beam, equally proportioned cabins, opening onto the common area with dinette, general locker, galley and crew cabin in the prow. Infinite variations and custom solutions are possible because of design modularity and the builder’s “CUSTOM” vocation.
