The
MD 51’ Power, designed by
Roberto Starkel, is a powerboat that capitalizes on
Maxi Dolphin experience with sailing boats in the use of composite materials, the application of advanced construction technologies and the design of the hull, the shape of which is optimise to achieve improved hydrodynamic efficiency. This ultra-modern megatender is based on nineteen thirties style, creating a refined contrast with the high-tech material used. The boat is built entirely using Sprint technology, which makes it extremely robust yet, at a mere 10,000 kg, exceptionally lightweight.
It is powered by two 435HP
Volvo Penta IPS 600 engines, true feats of engineering. The Volvo Penta IPS (Inboard Performance System) is a revolutionary new system of propulsion, incredibly more efficient than indoor systems. It has a higher top speed, better acceleration and superior performance. What's more, thanks to significant fuel saving, its cruising range is much higher.
It manoeuvres like a car; mooring is easy and handling perfect at high speeds. With minimal vibration and noise and virtually non-existent exhaust fumes, onboard comfort has progressed by leaps and bounds.
The
MD 51’ Power is designed and developed with emphasis on the environment and eco-sustainability. Its light weight, plus a highly streamlined hull, means it can be powered by a smaller engine than those used on boats of a similar size. With the same performance, this gives
lower consumption (100 litres/hour at cruising speed),
long range (about 540 miles cruising speed) and a significant reduction in
CO2 emissions.
