The owner of the second MD62ab, launched in 2022, sought for a boat for relaxed cruising, but also one with which he could try his hand at racing in the Mini Maxi class. Therefore, alongside the customary construction aimed entirely at strength and lightness, Ekita is equipped with a lifting keel. The entire rig is designed and built for a racer with extensive use of hydraulic systems, refined electronic instruments and a powerful sail plan with a square top mainsail. The interiors, which echo those of the first MD62ab, are also made of sandwich with a Canaletto walnut finish and enriched with marble tops in the bathrooms.
