SHIPYARD
HIGHEST TECHNOLOGY, LAST GENERATION MATERIALS AND OUTSTANDING HANDICRAFT CARE. THE WORK OF MAXI DOLPHIN BOATYARD IS BASED ON THESE THREE ELEMENTS, IN ORDER TO BUILD YACHTS THAT ARE UNIQUE IN THE WORLD.
Building with lightness in mind, making simple and reliable plants, fulfilling the boat owner’s requirements means knowing how to work with the most innovative technologies; it also means having a great sensitivity to construction. If all this is combined with new shapes, the outcome is a unique boat. This is Maxi Dolphin’s goal, a boatyard born to combine beauty with state of the art in the world of sailing or motor custom boats.
For this mission Maxi Dolphin can rely on the experience and know-how of the engineers and architects of its own technical department as well as on the skills of its workmen and specialized partners. All this with the guarantee of the highest quality, certified by the inspections of the most qualified companies and agencies of the field.
The boatyard, stretching out on more than 2,700 covered sqm, is equipped with an oven for the ‘baking’ of pre-preg composite materials; the oven can contain hulls of up to 36 meters of length.
Carbon fiber, epoxy resins and all the last generation materials are used not only to build hulls and decks, but also structural elements and furniture panels; here lightness blends with the mastery of Maxi Dolphin’s craftsmen, who are skilled in creating interiors full of charm and quality.
HISTORY
UTMOST ELEGANCE, USE OF THE MOST ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES AND OF THE NEW PROJECT VISIONS IN THE CONTINUOUS SEARCH FOR BEAUTY: THIS IS THE COURSE FOLLOWED BY MAXI DOLPHIN SINCE 1987.
“Beauty? It’s something that makes you feel good, therefore something very individual. To me it means order, harmony and sharing. No beautiful thing makes sense if you cannot share it with others”. With this vision, along with his passion for the sea, boats and nature, in 1987 Vittorio Moretti created the Maxi Dolphin boatyard.
The first boat built by Maxi Dolphin was the 73 ft Carmen di Bellavista, designed by Bruce Farr, followed by the maxi 118 ft Viriella, designed by Germán Frers. Two boats built according to that search for innovation, which is the basis of the Moretti Group, operating not only in the boating sector, but also in that of industrialized building , as well as in the top class enological, hotel and catering sectors.

A long number of sailing boats followed the Carmen di Bellavista and the Viriella: standard monotypes (over 300 produced Dolphin 81) and from 75 to 100 ft One-Off sailing boats, the outcome of the cooperation with the main yacht designers.
Roberto Starkel, Germán Frers, Bruce Farr, Luca Brenta Design, Bill Tripp, Finot-Conq are some of the designers for Maxi Dolphin, which in 2007 launched the MD Power: an innovative line of motor yachts, built using the same technologies of sailers and applying the same concept of custom-made, the real hallmark of all Maxi Dolphin boats.
PHILOSOPHY & DESIGNER
INNOVATION AND SEARCH FOR QUALITY BROUGHT ABOUT AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL FOR YACHTS WHICH ARE REALLY THE MIRROR OF THEIR BOAT OWNERS AND THEIR PASSION FOR THE SEA.
Maxi Dolphin boatyard perfectly interprets the motto of the Moretti Group to which it belongs: innovation and quality at the service of ideas. Since the beginning Maxi Dolphin has moved indeed on this track: cooperation with the worldwide most prominent yacht designers and engineers combined with the use of composite materials and of the most innovative technologies.
All this emphasized by the highest quality in the realization and attention to details, resulting in boats standing out for their utmost level of craftsmanship.
A mix which allows to translate into reality the specific and unique interpretation of seafaring, peculiar to each single boat owner, allowing him to fully live his relationship with the sea. A quality which makes the Maxi Dolphins, whether they are sailing or motor boats, unique and hence the greatest expression of the custom-made.
A quality which is the result of a relationship with the boat owner and which develops throughout all the design and construction stages; this translates into entirely personal yachts, endowed with state-of-the-art technology. Boats representing the outcome of a long construction experience, but above all of the continuous strive for all that, in the spirit of the Group, means real innovation.
From Germán Frers to Bruce Farr, from Bill Tripp to Roberto Starkel, Nacira Design, the French Finot-Conq studio, Luca Brenta, Harry Miesbauer Yacht Design, Ettore Santarelli.
