A Day Sailer designed exclusively by Maxi Dolphin, which combines state-of-the-art water lines, elegant layouts and a composite construction, yet with a racer equipment. Conceived for easy sailing she has a sail plan consisting of a full-batten mainsail, a furling jib and a 90-square metres gennaker mounted on an extractable bowsprit from the large cockpit. The deck is made of teak. The first MD33 launched in 2000 was followed by a number of other units for both Italian and European owners. A final validation of the project was in 2001 with the creation of the CrossCurrent 33 Day Racer, a version for the US market of the MD33.Entirely built in Italy, the CrossCurrent 33 Day Racer, born from a collaboration between Maxi Dolphin and the company CrossCurrent Marine of Rhode Island (USA), is rigged with a Hall Spars carbon mast and EZV boom, also from Hall Spars, and with a carbon sail package that have made her a major player in North American regattas.
