The first unit, launched in 2020, on a project by Argentinean Alejandro Bottino. She is a comfortable cruiser and powerful racer built in carbon-epoxy fibre sandwich lay-up, vacuum laminated with Corecell core and post-cured at 60°C in the shipyard’s own 40-metre oven. The hull has a maximum beam set back from the midships extending to the stern, with flanks featuring a light redan, as well as twin rudders and the option for a fixed keel (3,40 metres) or a lifting keel: 1,80-3,80 metres. The deck is completely clear with the rigging running underneath and all the way down to the manoeuvring cockpit with two wheels. The mast and boom are carbon made. She features a spacious guest cockpit. The owner of the first MD62ab opted for interiors with a large open space and organised with a living room, a navigator’s station, a relaxation area and the galley moved towards the front and thus allowing space for the living area. Forward of the saloon is the owner’s area; two double guest cabins are located aft. The cabins are lit by the long windows and top windows of the deckhouse, eight hatches on deck and windows on the side. The fittings, all made of sandwich, are finished with bleached oak with a horizontal grain and match the light-coloured panelling and anthracite-coloured upholstery of the seats.
